Books and stickers

As a librarian, I love books and enjoy reading while on vacation. In the past I have been known to overload on books but on this trip we want to minimize the total weight we are towing. As a result I'm only bringing a few paperbacks for pleasure reading. We are also bringing along the following:

  • Camping: The Camper's Journal by Journals Unlimited - I recently picked this up from Amazon and had fun reminiscing about all of our trips since we first got our KZ Sportsman Trailer in February 2014 while filing it out.
  • The Stars: A New Way to See Them by H.A. Rey - My mother-in-law gave each of the boys a copy of this book one Christmas. Since we will be in an area that offers some of the best night sky viewing in the country we are bringing it along to help identify what we are looking at.
  • National Geographic Field Guide to the Birds of North America - Maybe we'll see some cool birds and since I won't be using my phone....
  • Collector's Edition Passport to Your National Parks - We picked this up during our recent trip to Castillo de San Marcos National Monument in St. Augustine. Seems like a fun way to keep track of our park visits. I had no idea there were so many but always enjoy a challenge so we'll see how many we can make it to.

We also got a map of the United States for the side of our camper so that we can track of the states we visit. As a family we decided that we have to actually do something substantial in the state to add a sticker. So just driving through doesn't count. Looking forward to adding some more stickers later this week.

So now I have disclosed my nerdy side...but would you really expect anything less from a librarian?
